Something about Silhouettes

There is something elegant about a silhouette. The classic silhouette art and most recognized was used for portraits - side profiles of ladies during the turn of the century. These silhouettes were typically black placed on a lighter background. When used in jewelry, they appeared in cameo broaches, pins, and necklaces.

The modern silhouette is just as elegant but takes on a more modern appeal, especially since silhouettes can now be adhered directly to your wall. Silhouettes for your children's room add a certain charm and contemporary touch. Some of the silhouettes are somewhat whimsical with interesting pattern filling the silhouette's shape.

Silhouettes can also be appealing in other areas of your home. One great example is the chandelier pictured below. Place a chandelier where one would not be expected and you have something interesting and charming on your wall.

There are numerous silhouettes to select from and they all have that elegant aspect on your wall.
